Hello, I’m Rachel
ALTERNATIVE AND UNIQUE OXFORD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I’ve been working in Oxford as a wedding photographer for over 10 years now, and I still cherish every wedding I attend as much as the first! As a creative person, the city and its beautiful array of architecture lends itself to some dream wedding imagery, which helps to keep me inspired and ensure I capture unique photographs for the couples I photograph.

As a photographer, Oxford is a dream come true
I’ve travelled all over the world for photography, but Oxford holds a special place in my heart. I love the diversity and inclusivity, the scenery and most importantly the people!
A walk through Oxford will give you plenty of ideas for your wedding, taking you through the ages from Saxon to gothic, neoclassical to baroque – and loads of stunning green spaces for good weather weddings and engagement shoots too.
In 2016, nearly 5,000 weddings were conducted in Oxfordshire, but trends show that civil ceremonies are on the rise, while traditional church weddings are rapidly falling in the area. From my own experience, I’m seeing a lot of couples taking a less conventional approach to their nuptials – which is brilliant for me, as it generally means I can flex my wings and get a little more adventurous with the wedding photographs!
As a local wedding photographer in Oxford, I’ve discovered loads of great venues that are perfect for the big day. Here are a few of my favourites – although I’m also a big fan of a fairy tale woodland wedding, a themed marquee in a field or even a far-flung destination wedding if you’re up for it!
Aynho Park
Aynhoe Park hosts bespoke wedding celebrations in an unusual venue with something remarkable to reveal behind every door and around every corner. Think polar bear in flying goggles, a giraffe balloon-lifted to the ceiling, the Tardis, a unicorn, a wall of vintage globes and an alligator waiter… you get the picture! And just think of the pictures we could take!

Relax in the Moroccan style marquee and bedrooms with luxurious claw foot bathtubs at the foot of your bed – you can enjoy a superbly luxurious wedding at the Crazy Bear, set in beautiful countryside just outside Oxford: check out this wedding I photographed there.

I loved photographing this wedding at the Cherwell Boathouse where bride and groom can arrive by punt – how romantic!

I absolutely love Fison Barn, situated in one of my favourite locations at the foot of Wittenham Clumps, and it gave us some great opportunities for these wedding photos. Another lovely barn wedding venue is Lains Barn, where I’ve also had the pleasure to shoot.
In fact, Oxfordshire is home to many barns available to hire for your wedding day, giving you the freedom to decorate your venue as you choose – a brilliant blank canvas for you to be as subtle or creative and quirky as you wish!

Beautiful wedding venue hosting all inclusive civil ceremonies, and you can also get married outside on a warm and sunny day!
